The purpose of the 2008 Monona Pie Party was raise funds for the Winnequah Tile Mural Project in Winnequah School.
In recognition of the 3rd through 6th grade students who would be attending Winnequah School for the first time after its renovation a Tile Mural of the students artwork was to be installed in the Winnequah cafeteria. The total cost was expected to be $10,000 to $15,000.
The 2008 Monona Pie Party raised $7,000 toward the mural project thanks to businesses and friends of the Pie Party Committee and the Monona PTO.
Specifically the Monona Pie Party would like to thank the following businesses for contributing to the event.
Monona Motors
The Urban Villa
Vito's - Cerniglia Products Inc.
Clay Bay artists-in-residence, Jeanne and David Aurelius, worked with students, school staff, and community members to create the ceramic tile wall mural in the Winnequah Elementary cafeteria.
The artists have been working with Wisconsin schools, churches, and community non-profits for 12 years. The murals are a tribute to the artists’ ability to mold individual creativity into a communal artistic effort. Their belief that the value of each mural lies in the joy and learning of the process that created it drives them to work diligently with each new community of artists to find their common visions and values, and incorporate them into their mural.

The Winnequah Tile Mural is 16 feet wide and 5 feet tall.
