Once a baker has committed to participate in the contest they receive a baker’s kit in exchange for a $5 donation. This kit includes:
□ Contest entry form
□ Two pie tins (9” reusable restaurant grade)
□ Display box (for transporting and displaying the pie to be auctioned)
□ Promotional flyers to share with friends
□ Silent Auction Bidding sheet
The Monona Pie Party committee has limited baker’s kits so we ask that bakers only accept baker’s kits after they have committed to making some kind of pie for the event.
IMPORTANT:At this time we can not guarantee that we can keep pies cold or hot (do not make ice cream pies, for example). The pie party committee is considering ways to accommodate pies that are to be served hot or cold. We will email all bakers if there is a change in this status. The committee will also update the website www.bestpieparty.com

How does the contest work?
The set of pies (the taster pie and matching pie to be auctioned) associated with the most in donations wins; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded. Go to the "Event Guest Questions" tab on the right for details on tasting and voting for pies.
..
What does the baker win?
The First Place Winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to Ken's Meats & Deli.
Ken's Meats & Deli has also donated second and third place awards of $75 and $50 gift certificates.
Does the taster pie and pie to be auctioned have to be the same pie recipe?
Yes, some attendees will taste pies to determine which ones they want to bid on. Try before you buy!
Can I enter something other than pie into the contest?
No. However ,for the purposes of this fundraiser, the definition of pie is food made in the supplied baker's kit pie tins.
Do I have to pay to attend the event even if I am baking pie?
As a fundraiser we have a suggested donation for pie tasting. It is only a suggested donation. Your contribution as a pie baker and contestant is greatly appreciated and we hope you find it fun.
Can I buy a commercially produced pie and donate it to the event?
No. Only homemade pies are accepted. However, a professional baker can enter their pie as a homemade pie.
Can I receive a baker’s kit and then decide whether to make pies or not?
We hope that everyone who receives a baker’s kit makes pie and brings it to the event. The Pie Party Committee only has a limited number of baker’s kits.
